Notify Brighten
Please let us know as soon as possible if a Brighten customer has passed away. Early notification allows us to protect the account and ensure appropriate support is provided.
Anyone can notify Brighten of a customer’s passing.
However, only the following parties can provide instructions regarding the loan or estate:
- Executor of the Estate
- Next of Kin (where appropriate)
- Solicitor acting on behalf of the Estate
- Other authorised legal representatives

Documents Required
To notify us of a customer’s passing, please provide a certified copy of one of the following documents:
- Death Certificate
- Coroner’s Report
- Medical Certificate of Cause of Death
- Probate or Letters of Administration

What Happens Next?
Once we receive notification, we will:

- Explain the next steps and any documentation required to finalise estate matters.
We will acknowledge deceased estate notifications promptly, and aim to begin our assessment within 5 business days of receiving the required information, working with you to resolve matters as quickly as practicable.
Once we receive notification, we will:
