Brighten Home Loans (“Brighten”) is an Australian owned, Australian based and Australian regulated non-bank lender with offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Hong Kong and Shanghai.

Our loans are fully funded by a mix of Top Tier Banks and Multi-Institutional Capital and are specifically designed to suit the needs of a diverse range of customers.

Our Management

Brighten is led by an experienced and dynamic executive team. Our managing directors include former executives from UBS, holding an average of over 20 years of experience in the financial industry. Among our departments leaders are former executives from major non-bank lenders in Australia.

Scott Wehl

Scott Wehl

Position: Chairman

Scott has over 21 years of experience in Global Wealth Management and Corporate Banking working for top tier global banks in Australia, London, and Hong Kong.

Prior to founding Real Asset Management Group, Scott was a Managing Director and Head of Banking Products International for UBS Wealth Management (“UBS WM”), leading a team of finance professionals in 17 countries. Over a 13 year career with UBS WM, Scott held various roles including the Head of Banking Products in the United Kingdom, and Head of Banking Products Asia Pacific. Prior to joining UBS WM, Scott began his finance career in corporate banking with National Australia Bank in Brisbane Australia.

Scott holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Griffith University Australia, and an Executive MBA jointly from Kellogg Business School and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Position: Managing Director

Scott has over 24 years of experience in Global Wealth Management and Asset Management, working for top tier financial institutions in Australia and the United Kingdom.

Prior to joining Brighten, Scott was a Managing Director and Head of Investment Products and Services for UBS Wealth Management Australia. There he oversaw the entire product offering for Australia’s premier wealth manager with $A24bn of assets under management. Scott has also held the position of National Sales Director for Macquarie Private Wealth Australia and prior to this Scott co-founded and was Managing Director of Corazon Capital, a specialist wealth and asset management business based in Jersey. Scott was also the Joint Head of Private Clients at Kleinwort Benson, after starting his financial career with Mercury Asset Management in London.

Scott holds a B.A. (Hons) degree in Business Management from the University of Leeds and is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Securities & Investment, UK.

Adam Moore

Position: Director, Head of Securitisation & Funding

Adam has over 9 years of debt funding experience.

Prior to joining Brighten, Adam was a member of the Treasury and Securitisation team at Resimac, responsible for funding Resimac’s residential mortgage portfolio. In this role Adam managed various warehouse relationships along with arranging RMBS transactions to meet the ongoing funding requirements of the business.

Adam holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Finance) degree from Macquarie University and a Bachelor of European Business from the Ecole de Management de Normandie.

Jason Ford

Position: Director, Head of Operations

Jason has extensive experience spanning more than 18 years’ in the financial services industry, specialising in banking and mortgage lending.

Prior to joining Brighten, Jason most recently was responsible for the management of service across Firstmac’s businesses including loans.com.au. Jason’s passion is leading teams who strive to deliver a truly world class customer experience through efficient operational processes to retail, wholesale and white label customers. Jason’s business units encompassed managing end to end sales to settlement, customer service, collections, customer relations, loan solutions and investments, both in Australia and offshore.

Jason is currently undertaking his Masters of Business Administration through Griffith University.

Natalie Sheehan

Natalie Sheehan

Position: Director, Head of Distribution

Natalie has over 30 years of experience in Banking and Finance industry, working for some of Australia’s leading financial institutions.

Prior to joining Brighten, Natalie was the General Manager at Resicom Financial, where she was responsible for managing and mentoring the firm’s national team of business development managers and credit analysts and growing the introducer network within the Private Lending and Non-Bank space. Prior to that, Natalie was the COO and the Head of Distribution of Better Choice Home Loans.

Natalie is also a MFAA and FBAA accredited mentor under the More than Mentoring program which provides online study modules, hands on training sessions and workshops for new to industry brokers. Natalie is currently undertaking her MBA through Monash University. Natalie also holds a Diploma of Finance Broking n Insolvency Law (Postgraduate) Certificate in Insolvency Practice from the Queensland University of Technology and a Diploma in Finance and Mortgage Broking Management.

Jennifer Xu

Jennifer has over 7 years of experience in Marketing and Public Relations, working for institutions in Australia, Hong Kong and Macau.

Jennifer joined Real Asset Management Group in 2014. Prior to that, Jennifer worked for Classic Magazine as an Editor. Previously, she worked for Strategic Public Relations Group, Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) and Konami Digital Entertainment Ltd.

Jennifer holds a Master degree of Social Science in Advertising and a Bachelor of Journalism and Communication from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Yvonne Ching

Position: Head of Client Services

Yvonne has over 15 years of experience as an Australian tax compliance professional specialised in SMSF Superannuation Fund audits, and tax planning for SMEs and High Net Worth individuals.

Prior to joining Brighten, Yvonne worked as a Senior Accountant at Holt Baker Pty Ltd in Melbourne.

Yvonne holds a Bachelor of Business Accounting from Victoria University. Yvonne is also a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA), a registered Tax Agent, a registered SMSF Superannuation Fund Auditor and a Certified Xero Advisor.

Andrew Macadam

Head of Credit

 

Andrew Macadam

Position: Head of Credit

Andrew is a Senior Credit Risk Executive with 38 years of experience gained via several major financial institutions including Australian Defence Credit Union (Head of Credit), G&C Mutual Bank Limited, Yellow Brick Road Group Lending, HSBC Australia, AMP Bank, Citibank and State Bank of NSW (now CBA).

With proven ability to monitor and manage credit risk, including underwriting, lending operations and portfolio trends, Andrew has extensive experience of engagement with industry regulators, in reviewing and managing credit/risk policy/underwriting standards and procedures and ensuring compliance with APRA, ASIC and Basel 11 criteria.

Andrew was the ASIC accredited designated Responsible Manager for Australian Defence Credit Union and HSBC Australia Retail Credit and holds a Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking Management.
